| Design |
Bellio's slippers have a simple, stylish look, typical for Scandinavian design, with classical children's motifs. |
| Manufacturing |
The slippers are sewn by hand at Docksta Skofabrik in Docksta outside of Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. Docksta Skofabrik is a family business that has manufactured shoes by hand since 1923. |
| Leather |
The leather in Bellio's slippers is organically produced with vegetable-based tanning at Tärnsjö Garveri in Uppland, Sweden. Only colors without dangerous substances are used, and the leather is certified as WHITE LINE Leather through the control authority TÜV in Germany. The sole is made of a type of leather that gives the slippers good traction on the floor. |
| Elastic |
The ankle elastic makes the shoe easy to take on and off, and makes it stay on during play. The elastic is manufactured by AB Bandindustri in Kumla, Sweden. It's certified according to ÖKO TEX Standard 100 and the company has a SS-EN ISO 9001 Certificate. |
| Thread |
The thread used comes from Güterman in Germany and is certified according to ÖKO TEX Standard 100, as well. |
| Bellio Label |
The small Bellio label on the side of the shoe is manufactured by Swedish company Nilörn. We're working on making this part organic, as well. |
| Packaging |
We have chosen to deliver the slippers without packaging to minimize our environmental impact. Instead we have tied the slippers together with leather strings from Tärnsjö and added a note with information and some care & maintenance instructions. The info note comes from Trosa Tryckeri, that is labelled with the Nordic Ecolabel (Svanen) and is certified according to ISO 9001 och ISO 14001. |
